Active Devon > Appledore
Appledore, on the North coast of Devon, where the River Torridge & River Taw meet the Atlantic. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today.
Exit the M5 at junction 27 and follow the A361 towards Barnstaple. Remain on the A361 for approximately 36 miles until you come to a roundabout where the A39 to Bideford is signposted. Follow the A39 for approximately 10 miles until you come to a roundabout with Bideford signposted to the left and Westward Ho! to the right. Turn right and follow the road for a short distance until you see a right turn to Northam and Appledore signposted. Turn right and follow the road for approximately 2 miles into Appledore.
