Straddling the border of Devon and Somerset, the Blackdown hills offer a relatively unspoilt and forgotten landscape.
Exploring the Blackdown Hills using thiscarefully compiled road cycle route is a means of enjoying a quiet area rich in historic and wildlife interest. Ancient woodlands, hedgerows, attractive cottages, villages and churches all form part of the Blackdown Hills landscape, so do take time to stop and appreciate this beautiful area.

Facilities along route: Although it is sensible to take a drink with you on the route, there should be refreshment opportunities along the way. There is also cycle hire in Honiton.
Please note that this is not a Devon County Council maintained route. This route is a moderate 11 miles, provided St Cyres Hill is walked. Take extra care at junctions and bends.
On the route, look out for Wolford Chapel - this is the burial place of John Graves Simcoe, the first Lieutenant-Governer of Upper Canada (now Ontario) and founder of Toronto. Other places of note include Combe Raleigh and St Mary's Church at Luppitt.
