Sea Fishing and Angling in Devon

Nothing can quite equal the thrill of a big fish wrestling with your line when you go deep-sea fishing Devon's wild coasts - it's a memory to last a lifetime. But harbours and beaches also offer great sport for all, from small children to experienced anglers.

Sea fishing is a great attraction for many holiday-makers as well as serious anglers; you can end up the day with a fine catch of mackerel or pollock, or even, if you strike really lucky, a shark or conger eel.

Devon has plenty of first-class charter vessels to take you out to our splendid fishing grounds. But be warned - it's a very popular sport, so be sure to book in advance.

On shore take your pick of estuaries, harbours, sandy beaches and rocks from which to fish in Devon. If it's a first time for you or the kids, harbours are a good spot, giving you easy access to the water. And you will usually find a local tackle shop to set you up with the basic kit - some even rent out tackle.
