Surf Locations in Devon

Two coasts with an amazing range of beaches, plus powerful swells direct from the deep oceans - it's a dead cert that Devon has superb surf, and all year round too. Take your pick of location for the rollers of your dreams!

Take the north Devon coast for challenging breakers up there with the best. Croyde Bay has powerful waves at low tide that draw surfers from all over. Nearby Woolacombe Bay has classy beachbreak waves and Putsborough has waves that pack quite a punch. For pointbreaks and long rides go visit Lynmouth, while beginners should find the slower pace at Saunton and Bideford ideal.

Along the south Devon coast, locations such as Challaborough and Bantham all attract good numbers, especially in winter when the surf is more consistent. Indeed, as any surfer knows, surf quality changes with the prevailing wind, swell and tide, so you can find a whole range of experiences in just the one location.
