Active Devon / Walking in Devon / Long Distance Walking Trails in Devon / Erme-Plym Trail
This 10 mile, generally easy path takes in the pleasing environment of the Erme Valley south of Ivybridge as well as following a cross-country route through attractive pastoral landscape.
At its western end it has two branches. One goes to the outskirts of Plymouth, where it meets the southern end of another trail, the West Devon Way. The other branch links to the south coast at Wembury.
The Wembury branch is particularly important as forming a link on Devon's own Coast to Coast walk, in conjunction with the Two Moors Way.
But the Plymouth branch offers opportunities of its own for a circular walk in the southwestern corner of Devon, or a linear walk to or from Ivybridge using bus or train.
