A long stretch of this section of the Way follows alongside or parallel to the River Bovey as it cuts through the eastern side of the moor.
Much is wooded, although there are also short lengths of moorland, and the Way passes through the idyllic little village of North Bovey.
Where the river leaves the moor, the old wool and pottery town of Bovey Tracey is reached, and from here the Way follows fields, woods and occasional lengths of moorland fringe, with views out over South Devon most of the way, through the bustling little town of Ashburton to arrive at Buckfastleigh.
