Active Devon > Devon Watersports > Surfing in Devon > Croyde Beach
A World famous sandy beach, backed by sand dunes and situated in a small bay on the North Devon Coast. The stepped beach and rocks make it one of the best surfing in Europe.
Croyde Beach lies between the headlands of Baggy Point to the north and Saunton Down to the south. Apart from a rocky foreshore to the north and south, the beach consists entirely of fine sand which is ideally suited for many sports and activities, particularly surfing.
Impressive dunes rise steeply along the full length of the sands, which extend to more than half a mile in length. Good facilities and convenient parking make this a popular beach for both holiday makers and local residents.
From Braunton, follow signs for Croyde. There is a car park next to beach allowing access by foot.
