Cultural Devon > Devon's Cultural Calendar > The Devon Guild of Craftsmen
Open - 7 days a week 10am - 5.30pm and through to 9pm every Friday from 6th June to 5th September 2008.
Housed in the beautifully refurbished Riverside Mill on the edge of Dartmoor, it boasts the spacious Jubilee gallery, extended Craft Shop and The Terrace Cafe with rooftop seating. With over 113,000 visitors last year, this confirms its reputation as the main focus for contemporary crafts in the South West and a delightful place to spend a few hours.
The Guild is now the largest contemporary crafts venue in the region with around 240 Members (working craftspeople), many of whom are of national and international standing. The diversity of crafts range from the traditional to the contemporary, and includes metalwork, jewellery, furniture, sculpture, ceramics, prints, glass, textiles and digital photography.
With over six major exhibitions a year and regular members' showcases in the craft shop, there is always something new to see. There is also a year-round programme of events, talks and workshops - request an annual Events Brochure or visit www.crafts.org.uk
Riverside Mill now has excellent access for all, with wide aisles, level access, a disbaled parking space and a lift to the first floor cafe. An Access Leaflet is available.
The Terrace Cafe is available for functions and events outside normal hours (please request a copy of menu options).
