You can eat in wonderful style in Devon's great pubs and restaurants, but sometimes what really hits the spot is an honest-to-goodness top class bacon butty, the crispest of chips with hot fresh cod or the sheer indulgence of a cream tea with all the luscious trimmings. Devon's superb cafés and teashops are happy to step in and make your day!

Devon is of course renowned for its cream teas, with scones topped with fabulous thick clotted cream and home-made jams, but you would be hard pressed to beat the service at
Broadway House, near Topsham. This award-winning Georgian tearoom bakes its own scones daily and serves only the best of traditional tea. Hansons in Exeter also rightly prides itself on the quality of its cream teas.

The Venus Company, running beach cafés at Blackpool sands, East Portlemouth and Bigbury on Sea, is fanatical about using only the best of local products and offers an amazing range of tempting meals and snacks. And in Dartmouth, Café Alf Resco is famous for its wonderful breakfasts and friendly buzz.
