The Merry Harriers is an award winning family owned Free House set in the beautiful Blackdown Hills, recently designated an "area of outstanding natural beauty".

Complementing a wide range of fresh fish, meat and game is an excellent choice of fine wines (fourteen available by the glass) and local real ales. A large mature beer garden can be used in the summer months, in which can be seen birds such as Song Thrushes, Wrens, Gold Finches, Nuthatches, Housemartins and Woodpeckers, some of which nest in the garden and surrounding woodlands.

On an historic note, the Inn stands by the side of the once infamous Forches Corner, where records show ambushes took place during the 17th Century Monmouth Rebellion and Highwaymen patrolled the roads, (some of whom were hung outside the pub). It is also said that the pub is haunted by two ghosts - the Headless Horseman and an Old Lady - both of whom are alleged to be mischievous but friendly.
