David Bellamy Conservation Awards
David Bellamy Conservation Awards are made each year to parks which can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. Assisted by local nature groups and holidaymakers themselves, David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. The Soil Association
The Soil Association is the UK's leading environmental charity promoting sustainable, organic farming and championing human health, and also the UK's leading certification organisation for organic food and farming. Tourism businesses certified as organic aren't just food and drink producers; organic certification also applies to restaurants, bars, holiday accommodation and spas, as well as shops. Dartmoor Charter For Sustainable Tourism
Dartmoor National Park encourages tourism businesses to sign up to the Dartmoor Charter for Sustainable Tourism and make a real commitment to conserve Dartmoor's special qualities. Businesses who sign up to the charter have to produce and implement a plan to better use resources, to reduce waste, to learn about and promote the special qualities of Dartmoor, to encourage sustainable travel and help protect Dartmoor by following Moor Care guidelines.
