Bovey Castle
Opened in April 2004, Bovey Castle is the new five star golf and sporting resort from Peter de Savary, the creator and founder of the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle. Set in 300 acres of private estate in the middle of Dartmoor National Park Bovey Castle is the first hotel in the West Country to be awarded five star status in more than 60 years.
A multi-million refurbishment has restored the castle and its grounds back to its original splendour. The hotel offers 65 individually designed bedrooms, a range of elegant and comfortable reception rooms, a new indoor swimming pool with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, and a new holistic Spa with six treatment rooms.
The 18 hole Championship Old Course has also seen a major investment and is now complemented by a new clubhouse and terrace offering stunning views over the course, grounds and moor. For non golfers, the estate offers an extensive range of outdoor pursuits such as horse-riding, fly fishing and pistol shooting.
Non residents are welcome by prior reservation.
