Award winning, Burton Farmhouse can be found in the South Hams of South Devon - an area of outstanding beauty. Our 15th century farmhouse and its two pretty, self catering cottages nestle in South Huish valley at Galmpton near to the old fishing village of Hope Cove. Close by, are the beautiful estuary towns of Salcombe and Kingsbridge, stunning beaches and coastal walks. Lovingly restored with a wealth of original features, character and charm, Burton Farmhouse is the ideal place for bed and breakfast, family holidays, pre school getaways, walking breaks and romantic escapes. The Farmhouse is also a licensed venue for weddings, civil partnership, renewal of vows and naming ceremonies. Originally owned by the Earl of Devonshire, Burton Farmhouse is set in 325 acres. It is a working farm with a pedigree Holstein dairy herd and two flocks of pedigree breeding sheep – Polled Dorsets and Suffolks. The Rossiter family has farmed in the South Hams for more than 100 years. BED AND BREAKFAST Stay at Burton Farmhouse where guests are invited to enjoy our home. Family groups on holiday are always welcome and specially catered for, including those with toddlers. Our countryside setting close to the sea, means our accommodation is also popular with walkers and those simply wanting to get away from it all. Choose from 14 farmhouse ensuite rooms in country style and family, double, twin or single bed rooms. There is a ground floor room with easy wheel chair access and non slip shower & grab rails. All rooms have colour TV, clock radio, hairdryers, bedroom tea & coffee making facilities and central heating throughout. Relax in the fully licensed Retreat lounge with winter log fires. Enjoy our four course farmhouse breakfast and dinner (optional) in the Garden Room Restaurant. As a Bronze Award South Hams Green Tourism Business, we take steps to minimise our environmental impacts. These include recycling, energy & water efficiency, composting and local purchasing. The farmhouse is a non smoking area. SELF CATERING Stay for a week or two in our self catering cottages here in the heart of the lovely South Hams of South Devon. Our two pretty cottages are next door to each other and located close to the farmhouse. Guests can use the Garden Room Restaurant for hearty, farmhouse breakfasts, evening dinners and afternoon cream teas. The Retreat Lounge Bar is also open to self catering guests. Please book for dinners by the same day morning to avoid disappointment. Parking is available outside in the lane. Dairyman's Corner: Furnished in traditional style for family holidays – 3 bedrooms to sleep 2-5 people. Shepherd's Rest: Newly refurbished in country style with 2 bedrooms and a bed settee in the lounge for up to 6 people. GARDEN RESTAURANT Our restaurant is open all year to guests and non residents for evening dining, afternoon cream teas and Sunday lunches. Whether you’re on holiday, visiting your second home or live locally, we look forward to welcoming you soon. Dine in the Garden Room Restaurant, the cosy Retreat Bar or in summer, out in the Patio Garden. Burton Farmhouse has an envious reputation for real Devon hospitality and fine dining. Savour tasty, home made food to our own recipes, all cooked with passion and flair. We use fresh, quality, produce, most of which is sourced locally in the South Hams. Try tempting seasonal dishes and mouth watering sweets. Clotted cream made from the farm's own dairy milk, means Burton Farmhouse is a “must stop” for a Devon cream tea. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets catered for – just say on booking. Bookings preferred please.
