Lydford Country House
A family run B&B with a relaxed friendly atmosphere in the Dartmoor National Park. Lydford House has been welcoming guests for over a hundred years. Built by the celebrated Victorian artist Widgery, the house is situated in 8 acres of delightful gardens and pastureland. The moors are 5 minutes walk away and provides miles of spectacular scenery for walking, cycling, riding or just whiling away lazy hours amidst the quite beauty.
There are 9 spacious bedrooms - doubles, singles, and family rooms and two self-catering apartments. Our full English breakfast with local produce is the perfect start to the day and packed lunches are provided by prior arrangement. Enjoy a cream tea in our licensed tearoom 'Wigery's Rest'.
Guests can be booked into award-winning eating establishments, two within walking distance, in the village of Lydford, by prior request. On cooler evenings a cozy log fire is always burning in the guest lounge, where you can relax over a glass of wine or beer.
With our own access onto the off-road, "Granite Way" Cycle Path we have a number of bikes available for hire, with secure storage if you bring your own cycles. Many enthusiasts stop at Lydford House as a staging post as they ride the "Devon Coast to Coast" route! In the grounds is Lydford House Stables offering holidays for you and your horse at no extra cost, with wonderful hacking out over the moors and up to the tors and beyond, our paddocks and sand school are also available for your use.

Road Directions
From Exeter Take the A30 Westboud direction towards Okehampton. After passing Okehampton leave this road at the A386 turning left onto the Bideford/Tavistock road in the direction of Tavistock. The turning for Lydford is approximatly 6 miles on the right opposite the Dartmoor Inn. We are 300 yards on the right just before you pass over the bridge into the village. From Plymouth Head out on the A386, Tavistock road, pass through Tavistock heading for Okehampton. After 6 miles you will come to Lydford , turn left into the village opposite the Dartmoor Inn. There are regular buses between Exeter to Okehampton, and also from Okehampton to Lydford and Plymouth to Lydford.
