New Moorings is a quality guest house conveniently located in the heart of Exmouth. Anne and Dave offer a friendly welcome and all the help needed to enjoy a visit to this traditional seaside resort with its 2 miles of soft, golden sands and beautiful Exe estuary.
We offer 6 en suite rooms comprising a family room, a single room, 2 double rooms and 2 twin-bedded rooms. This includes one twin room on the ground floor allowing easy access for the less mobile. All rooms are freshly decorated with local artists prints enhancing the walls and have an en suite shower room with WC and basin, a welcoming tray of tea and coffee-making facilities, and a television with a Freeview box giving access to many channels.
Our exceptional breakfasts are served in the ground floor dining room. Following a visit to the buffet for a selection of cereals, fruit juices, hot toast and preserves, you have a choice of Fairtrade teas and coffees before enjoying a cooked-to-order traditional or vegetarian breakfast. We offer locally produced organic bacon and sausages, free range eggs, fresh mushrooms and tomatoes, hash browns and eggs that can fried, scrambled or poached.
New Moorings is a short, level stroll from the beach, marina and town centre. There is plenty of unrestricted on-road parking, with several paying car parks if street spaces become limited at peak periods. Weekly tickets allowing parking at any Exmouth car park are available. We have limited covered space at the rear of the guest house for a small car, bikes, fishing/diving equipment etc.
There is a wide variety of local cafes, restaurants and pubs serving lunches and evening meals at a variety of prices and styles and many with spectacular views. You will be spoilt for choice!
Whatever time of the year or whatever your age, Exmouth has plenty to offer. The beach is a joy to visit and a photographer’s paradise. The 2 mile promenade stretches from the marina to Orcombe Point, providing a level walk with lovely views, and plenty of seats and beach cafes to take a well-earned rest. Children will love the donkey rides, swing boats, miniature and model railways, crazy golf and adventure playground whilst the adults have an endless choice of cricket, bowls, golf, car-boot sales, craft fairs, shopping at the varied shops in the town and live entertainment.
The local walking is spectacular – along the Jurassic coast , up the estuary or across the ferry or water-taxi to fun-packed Dawlish Warren. The Exe estuary offers a fascinating expanse of water and sandbanks that draws bird-watchers, artists, photographers, ramblers and water sports enthusiasts. Looking for even more? East Devon is an area of outstanding natural beauty and offers opportunities for cycling, riding, golf, history and family attractions.
New Moorings is recommended as a great place to book in for a short break or a longer stay in order to enjoy the delights of Exmouth and Devon.
