At Swardicott Farm our two comfortable self-catering cottages are set in the heart of rural Devon. The farm is ideal for a family to relax and explore in safety, lay in the games room and Wendy house and join in feeding the farm animals in the morning and at evening. The renowned Tarka Trail passes the end of the drive, suitable for both cyclists and walkers. Many stretches of coast are within easy driving distance, as are a wide variety of Devon’s attractions, covering a multitude of interest from walking and fishing, crafts and museums to surfing and canoeing.

Whatever you do, you return at the end of the day to stunning views of Dartmoor over the rolling landscape enjoyed from the tranquillity of the garden. Or you can stroll around the farm to see the lake and watch the wildlife in the fields.

The cottages are in a carefully restored stone barn. Each has electric cooker, colour TV, video, and microwave. Laundry facilities are available in the farmhouse at a small extra charge. Clematis Cottage sleeps 4, Lavender sleeps 6, with 2 in bunk beds.

The separate games room is well equipped with table tennis, snooker table and various games. Outdoor games include badminton and croquet. A barbecue is available.

There is ample parking space and bicycles can be kept under cover.

Dogs are welcome. If there are more than 2, they must sleep in a clean strawed outhouse.

Much of the farmland has joined the South West Forest Project. Trails through the young trees guide guests on a walk right around the farm or allow shorter walks to be followed.

The farm animals include several rare minority breeds. The shorthorn cows can be watched at milking time and there is usually a calf to feed at the same time. Two Tamworth Sows and their piglets, a small flock of Shropshire Sheep and the ducks and geese living in the orchard right next to the croquet lawn completely the tally of livestock.
