Taw Mill Cottage, a Grade II listed, 16thC mill cottage, was once at the centre of a corn mill serving the surrounding farms and the original leat and mill pond remain attractive features. The cottage has been lovingly restored to provide superb accommodation; original beams, ingle nooks and four-poster make it the perfect Devon retreat.
Soft country-style furnishings and antiques are in keeping with its character and the cottage has country views from all windows, the beautiful gardens make for the perfect surroundings in which to relax and unwind.
The Tallat House.
Tallat means apple or hay store and we have converted the ancient barn buildings into a very comfortable house that sleeps 4 people.
Massive Oak beams adorn the thatched property and the interior has been tastefully designed with all modern conveniences to make this a truly charming and comfortable dwelling.
Entering through the thatched porch the fully tiled downstairs bathroom is on the left. On the right the fully fitted kitchen with oak units and beams leads into the dining area. Through the dining area and around the corner to the fully carpeted lounge room with fireplace at the end.
The first floor is reached by a beautiful hand-made oak staircase and on this floor are the 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom with superb views over the surrounding land.
Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are within easy reach and offer breathtaking scenery and exhilarating walks. The historical cathedral city of Exeter and the market towns of Hatherleigh, Bideford and Barnstaple are all within 20 miles. At Bideford, boat and helicopter trips run to Lundy Island. Barnstaple hosts beautiful floral display, a pannier market and a chance to sample fresh local produce and a delicious Devon cream tea.
