A warm welcome awaits you at the Thorverton Arms.

The Arms, a 16th century coaching inn, is located in the centre of the beautiful village of Thorverton in Devon. We are in the heart of the English countryside and yet only seven miles from Exeter and eight miles from the local town of Tiverton, making it the ideal touring base for the north and south Devon coasts, Exmoor and Dartmoor.

The Thorverton Arms boasts a welcoming bar where you will find a large selection of real ales, wines and spirits; a separate restaurant that serves home-made traditional English food; a large south-facing beer garden; a large car park and four en-suite letting rooms.

Accommodation
The Thorverton Arms has six comfortable en-suite letting rooms: three double rooms, one twin room, one single room and a family room that sleeps up to four.

All our rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and are well equipped with:

• Pocket sprung beds
• Luxury pillows
• Power shower
• Central heating
• Tea and coffee making facilities
• Hairdryer
• Alarm clock
• Remote controlled television

We also have a baby listening monitor available which gives parents peace of mind if they fancy an evening drink in the bar or a meal in the restaurant.

Check-in Time: from 2pm onwards
Check-out Time: 10.30am

The Restaurant
There is a separate, fully licensed, restaurant at the Thorverton Arms. Our chef and landlord, Garth Pearse, has more than 10 year's experience in the trade. He insists on only the best ingredients and ensures that all our meat and vegetables are sourced locally. All beef comes from carefully selected cattle from local farms and is hung for 21 days, giving it real flavour and tenderness. Our grass fed lambs are also selected from local farms and all pork comes from free range Gilt pigs reared on a Wellington farm. Chicken and duck are bred to the highest welfare standards.

With a large choice of traditional English food, our philosophy is straight forward: simple, fresh, home-made food presented in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and offered at affordable prices. For example, home made soups and pates, a comprehensive selection of meat, including steaks, lamb, duck and chicken, home-made lasagne and beef burgers, and a range of delicious puddings, including treacle tart, clotted cream fudge cake and meringues.

If you have any special dietary needs please let us know, as most dishes can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

The Bar
The Thorverton Arms dates back to 1542, when it first opened as a coaching inn. The bar is cosy and welcoming and boasts an extensive range of drinks, including real cask ales. Popular with both locals and visitors, there is always someone interesting to talk to.

Quiz nights are held every Sunday at 8pm and there is also a Thorverton Arms Darts Team who meet every Monday evening from September to May.

Bar snacks are available every day (except Sunday lunch-time) between 12pm and 2.30pm.

A take-away menu is available every evening.

Please Note: The tariff for our Family Room is for two adults and two children under the age of 12 sharing. If more than two adults stay in this room, there is an additional charge of £20 per person.
