A family run farm; Waytown is situated in the lovely rolling north Devon countryside approximately 3 miles from the historic town of Barnstaple.

The sandy beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are within easy reach, as are the gardens of Marwood Hill and RHS Rosemoor, also the moors of Exmoor National Park.

Our 17th century farmhouse, with spacious bedrooms, most of which are en-suite, have breathtaking views.

All rooms have hospitality trays, heating, colout TV, clock radio and hair dryers. There is a public bathroom for everyboby's use. Lounge with Inglenook fireplace to warm yourself by on a cold evening and colour TV. Beamed dining room serving a full English breakfast.

The house is approached by a short drive off the A39 and is set in it's own grounds, having ample parking space. There is a large lawn for everybody to sit in, soaking up the lovely north Devon sunshine, with the occasional barbeque.

Guests are welcome to walk around the farm with its many fine views and see all the wonderful wildlife, such as rabbits, foxes and badgers, buzzard hawks and many other birds and animals. Watch the baby lambs skipping in the spring.

After everybody has worked up an appetite from the north Devon country air a scrumptous English breakfast awaits you to set up for the day. Whether it be visiting any of our lovely sandy beaches of Saunton, Croyde or Woolacombe, walking on beautiful Exmoor, shopping in Barnstaple or any of the attractions in the area.

Our village of Shirwell is one of the old 'One Hundreds' being the birthplace of the 'Round the World' yachtsman Sir Francis Chichester who's family were the 'landed gentry' of the area, his cousin owning the National Trust property 'Arlington Court' (about 4 miles up the road).

There are many picturesque villages and hamlets to be discovered. From the dramatic cliffs of Lynton and Lynmouth to Clovelly with it's cobbled streets.

Road Directions

Take the A39 Lynton road out of Barnstaple for about 3 miles, the farmhouse is on the right hand side of the main road before you get to Shirwell Village.

Public Transport Directions

Barnstaple has a railway station and is easily accesible from Exeter.
