A nineteenth century village created by the Knight family, Simonsbath is part of the former Royal Forest of Exmoor. It is a poplular starting point for walks along the River Barle and the meadow by the river is a good place for picnics. The sawmill has been restored and can be visited on certain days during the summer.

There is a pub, shop, tea room and hotel here.
