Public Transport Directions

By Bus
The number 12 bus runs approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day. Take the bus to Cockington Lane/Livermead House Hotel. Walk up Cockington Lane and through the Watermeadows on the boardwalk, a 20 minute walk. Unfortunately, the route is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The No.62 bus runs Monday to Saturday (10am to 4.25pm). You can catch the bus from Princess Gardens and Torre Abbey Sands. Travel is free for all over 60's with a UK bus pass.

By Train
Cockington is accessible by train. Change at Newton Abbot for Torquay station. Cockington is a five minute walk along Hennapyn Road, through the Watermeadows and boardwalk.

  • Parking (charge) - Cockington is served by three car parks, Cockington Village and Higher Lodge Car park. The car park at the rear of Cockington Court is most suitable for disabled access. Turn right and bear left towards the Drum Inn. Just past the main Village Car park is a Bus Stop on the left hand side, take the left hand turning to the Drum Inn, sign posted Cockington Court, Meeting Rooms. Follow the lane right up to the back of the Court, passing the stable on the right hand side. There is a Pay and Display Car Park straight ahead. Charges in this car park are £1.50 for 2 Hours and £3.00 for 2-12 hours; Blue badge Holders 1 hour free. Torbay Council annual parking permits are honoured, in the car park to the rear of Cockington Court as are Torbay Council blue disabled badges
