South West Raqs

An incredible selection of Belly Dance workshops including Isis Wings, Modern Cairo Style, American Tribal, Khaleegi and Sha’abi. Workshops will be held in a variety of locations along Totnes High Street. Two vibrant gala evening shows on Friday and Saturday will feature the best of local dancers plus international artists Yasmina of Cairo, Shafeek Ibrahim and Feresteh.

The Festival starts on Friday evening when organiser Siouxsie Cooper will introduce a showcase of the best performers in the region, from Somerset to Cornwall.

Saturday and Sunday offer a wealth of different styles and levels, with the opportunity to work with not only Yasmina, Shafeek and Feresteh but also Anne White, Maria d’Silva and Michelle Pender. This is the first time that such a collection of respected practitioners have gathered together in Devon.

On Saturday evening the international stars will all perform – the first time they have been together on the same bill!

Early bird tickets are available until 30 May for the incredible price of £105, which includes both shows and two days of workshops. After that the price rises to the still reasonable £122 and day tickets may be purchased (subject to availability).
