Tavistock Food Festival

Tavistock's annual Food Festival with over 110 exhibitors and a large marquee complex. Jazz Cafe will offer traditional jazz throughout the festival and a wide range of food reflecting the Fesitval of quality products from the South West.

Themed Cheese Corner and Celebrity Chef demonstrations organised by Chef Peter Gorton.

External Farmers Market will take place throughout the Fesitval.

The organisers of this year’s Tavistock Food have just announced that all their exhibitor stands are now fully booked. Jeffrey Stackhouse, Festival Chairman, said “We are absolutely delighted that despite the difficult economic climate we have a full exhibitor line up. There is no doubt that Tavistock is considered by the exhibitors as a very strong buying town and the fact that we have a Festival completely under canvas and sited on hard stand guarantees them and our visitors a truly weather proof venue. In 2007 numerous festivals and shows had to be cancelled and already this year several have been cancelled, most notably the Fairford Air Show.

Tavistock Lions and Round Table are organising an off site Park ‘n Ride scheme and all motorists are strongly recommended to drive direct to Crowndale Road where they can park their vehicles and take the shuttle bus to the Festival venue particularly as there will be virtually no parking available in the main Bedford Car Park. Effectively the only vehicle access available in Bedford Car Park will be for pick up and set down.

Master Chef Peter Gorton will be entertaining the visitors with his ever popular line up of celebrity chefs, and this year he has an extremely strong line up of regional chefs such as Michael Caines, the Tanner Brothers, and Paul Da Costa Greaves. His demonstration marquee will be manned and operated by the Children’s Hospice South West who are being supported as a charity by the Festival organisers.

The organisers are particularly grateful for the volunteer support they are to receive from the Tavistock Business Association and the Rotary Clubs of Tavistock and Yelverton who will be providing stewards throughout the Festival, Lions and Round Table for organising the Park ‘n Ride scheme and the Children’s Hospice South West for Managing the chefs’ demonstration area.
