The Bicton Lectures: Summer Series 2008 - The Wildlife and Environment of East Devon

Sunday 7th September at 2.30pm at Bicton College: THE VEITCH PLANT HUNTERS & THEIR PLANTS - Bicton Arboretum guided walk.
Exeter Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Bicton College will host the Global Gardeners touring exhibition until Sept 26th. To close the lectures, and open the exhibition, horticulturalist and Veitch specialist Caradoc Doy will talk on the Veitch Plant Hunters - an internationally acclaimed family of plant hunters, collectors and nurserymen in the late 1700s and throughout the 1800s.
Individual lectures cost £10 each including refreshments, 10% discount if you book 3 or more lectures per person.

Stagecoach service 157 Exmouth – Budleigh Salterton – Bicton College – Sidmouth, drops you at the end of the drive where you get to enjoy a short 5 minute walk up the monkey puzzle drive. This services runs on the hour throughout the day.
Stagecoach service 57C from Exeter – Exmouth – Budleigh Salterton – Bicton College, comes up the drive and stops outside Bicton’s Learning Resource Centre. This service operates in the morning and late afternoon only, to coincide with the start and end of the College day.

The main train station is Exeter, whilst the nearest train station is Exmouth. You can catch a connecting bus (157 or 57C service) from either Exeter or Exmouth to Bicton College.
