Home / Devon Food and Drink / The Nobody Inn
The sixteenth century Nobody Inn is set in rolling Devon countryside between the Haldon Hills and the Teign Valley about six miles to the south-west of Exeter. Although modern history of the Inn can be traced back to 1591 it was not until two hundred years later that it became the New Inn and another one hundred and sixty before it was renamed The No Body Inn with reference to an unfortunate episode concerning a deceased landlord.
Today The Nobody Inn is one of the country's leading inns - renowned for its imaginative wine and whisky list, comprehensive selection of local cheeses and creative cooking based on fresh local produce.
Low ceilings, blackened beams, inglenook fireplace, antique furniture and timeless atmosphere retain The Nobody's unspoilt old world charm.
Doddiscombsleigh is situated about 6 miles to the South-West of Exeter. To find The Nobody Inn, turn off the A38 at the top of Haldon Hill (signposted Exeter Racecourse, Forest Walks, Dunchideock) and then follow signs to Doddiscombsleigh. 3 miles.
The nearest railway station is Exeter St David's - 6 miles.
