David Bellamy Conservation Awards
These awards are made each year to parks to parks David Bellamy Gold Awardwhose policies show active concern for the environment. Assisted by local nature groups and holidaymakers themselves, David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. The Soil Association
The Soil Association is the UK's leading environmental Soil Association logo charity for promoting sustainable organic farming and championing human health. Most certificates for organic food and farming in the UK are awarded by it. Tourism businesses certified as organic aren't just food and drink producers; organic certification also applies to restaurants, bars, holiday accommodation and spas, as well as shops. Dartmoor National Park encourages tourism businesses to sign up to the Dartmoor Charter for Sustainable Tourism and make a real commitment to conserving Dartmoor's
Dartmoor Charter for Sustainable Tourism logo special qualities. Businesses signing up to the charter must use resources better, reduce waste and learn about and promote the special qualities of Dartmoor. They also encourage sustainable travel and help protect Dartmoor by following Moor Care guidelines.
