Home / Things To Do in Devon / Outdoor Activities in Devon / Walking / Long Distance Trails / Exe Valley Way
Almost 45 miles end to end, this trail runs through beautiful Devon countryside between the Exe Estuary and the heights of Exmoor.
The route is partly waymarked, except for urban areas and on Exmoor and can easily be split into easy stages, each of which has its own special charm.
Passing through the city of Exeter and the market towns of Tiverton, Bampton and Dulverton, the variety of scenery includes a wide estuary, historic city, quiet rural landscapes, steep wooded valleys and moorland.
Walking is mostly fairly easy with a couple of stiff climbs out of the valley.
The trail can be accessed by bus and/or train routes to allow for short lengths to be walked. For up-to-date information on timetables call the Traveline on 0870 608 2608 or visit www.traveline.org.uk
