The Hartland Peninsula is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with breathtaking coastal scenery, wonderful cliff top walks and beautiful secluded beaches. Many people come to the Hartland Peninsula in North Devon AONB to enjoy the beaches and dynamic coastline, while others wish to discover the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.

The coastline of this part of north Devon is a haven to wildlife, with rich communities of cliff top grassland and heathland, semi-natuural woodlands and a wide variety of animal life including breeding peregrine and raven. Geologically, the coastline shows terrific exposures through Upper Carboniferous rocks, including some dramatic large-scale folding.
