House built in c1870 by William Burges. Celebrated garden features a water lily pool, topiary, fine specimen trees, formal terraces, spring bulbs and rare shrubs. The rich interiors combine medieval romanticism with lavish Victorian decoration. The newly-opened Burges Room is a realisation of Burges' exuberant design for this room, including walls decorated with over 80 birds. Newly restored Victorian kitchen garden now open.
