(Photo: D Whitmarsh) This area is as picturesque as Devon gets. With rolling fields bordered by the characteristic Devon hedgerows, and areas of ancient woodland stacked full with veteran trees and crawling with all manner of life! As you walk along the quiet country lanes you will be confronted by a riot of plants and flowers in the old hedgerows- depending on the time of year you may see the Devon flower- the primrose in bloom with an array of other wildflowers, later on the hedge itself explodes with flowers as the Hawthorn and Blackthorn flower. Come autumn you will be picking the last of the blackberries, and if you arrive in winter the holly berries will add a splash of colour to the rich green hedge. See what rural Devon has to offer on this genuinely charming country trail.
