This area of estuary for shore is interesting on many accounts. This is a beautiful spot for walking along the estuary with interesting geological features including estuarine cliffs. Near South Hooe lies one of the earliest lead mines in the area. The mine was historically noted for fluid-filled quartz known as 'water cubes'.

When: All year. Not at High Tide.
Facilities: Dogs Allowed, Visitor Centre, Walks,
Access: Cycleway and walkway available. Bus route not available.
Hints and Tips: It is possible to walk along the estuary edge however care must be taken when the tide is rising and should not be walked upon at high tide. Estuarine mud can also be dangerous so take care!

Road Directions
