Central Cinema

This art deco cinema was built in 1931 for the Gaumont British Circuit and has now been converted to provide four modern auditoria with luxury seating, full air conditioning and multi-track sound. Screens 2, 3 and 4 are located on the ground floor and are fully wheel chair accessible. Screen 1 has recently been refurbished and is at first floor level at the former balcony and is large and impressive with steeply raked seating, digital sound and a newly installed bigger screen now over 40 feet wide. This auditorium also has a limited number of Pullman recliner seats. There is a licenced café in the first floor foyer. A 5th screen, new toilet facilities and enlargement of screen 4 is due to commence soon.
