Several of Devon's most attractive villages lie in the beautiful Dart valley. This route - which can be much reduced in length - includes three of the finest, as well as splendid views of Bow Creek and the Dart. Cornworthy has a pleasing medley of houses and a handsome church, while Tuckenhay is a former industrial, creekside hamlet. Dittisham is a riverside gem. Don't miss the church, which has a beautiful carved stone wineglass pulpit and a wonderful 15-century screen.

Theme: Country,
Special Interest: Nature,
Area: South Devon - South Hams.

Relevant maps/guides: O.S. Explorer OL20, Landranger 202.

Other information: This route can be reduced to 3 miles if you wish, making it a lot easier. Field paths and country lanes. Several steep ascents and descents. The full walk (10 miles) will take roughly five hours for the average walker; the shorter (3 miles) route should only last about an hour and a half.
