For a great day out, leave the car behind and travel green ways to Greenway: visitors arriving by river, bicycle or on foot receive reduced admission charges. Woodland garden of beauty and tranquility with an atmosphere of wilderness and mystery. Wonderful position with breathtaking views.
The Greenway estate including the woodland garden of exceptional beauty and tranquility was given to the National Trust in 2000 by Rosalind Hicks (daughter of Agatha Christie), her husband Anthony Hicks and Rosalind's son Mathew Pritchard. It has a wonderful position on the banks of the River Dart with breathtaking views and glimpses of the Dart estuary.
Visitors can follow an interesting route around the garden, including the boathouse and battery on the banks of the river. A series of special events take place throughout the season - please telephone for details or check the National Trust website www.nationaltrust.org.uk/devoncornwall.

Travel along the A3022 towards Brixham and turn off at signs for 'Galmpton and Greenway Quay'. We are situated 1.5 miles from the village. Greenway operates a traffic management system to reduce car impact on the local village. Whenever possible please travel by 'green ways' to Greenway.
Enjoy a cruise on the River Dart from Dartmouth (use Dartmouth Park and Ride, bus service every 15 minutes, please allow at least 4 hours parking). Operators Greenway Quay and ferry services, licensed to the N.T. tel. No. 01803 844010 or Riverlink 01803 834488.
Bus Route: Stagecoach 12 to Brixham from Torquay or Paignton. Alight at Churston, walk 1.5 miles down Greenway Road. Nearest station: Paignton (main network) or Churston (Steam Railway)
