Grenville House Outdoor Education Centre provides a spectacular setting for a wide range of experiences and opportunities on either a residential or non-residential basis, throughout the year.
Set in a unique waterside location alongside the historic fishing port of Brixham, with outstanding views across Torbay the centre provides a feeling of seclusion whilst being a short walk from the town centre.
Our combination of flexibility and focus on customer satisfaction enables us to offer programmes for groups of schoolchildren, youth groups or organisations which are designed to meet both their needs and budget. Adults can also be catered for when availability allows it.
British Canoe Union (BCU) and Royal Yachting Association (RYA) tuitions provided by qualified coaches.
Kayaking, Canoeing, Powerboating, Dinghy and Yacht sailing are all available directly from the centre launching from our own slipway, except for the yacht, which is berthed in the nearby marina.
Our modern Kayak fleet caters for a wide range of ages and sizes. For the more adventurous paddlers Sea Kayaking is also available using our fleet of 'Capella' Sea Kayaks, whilst Open Canoes allow even the novice group to go for a short trip across the harbour to a local beach.
The River Dart is only 10 miles from the centre where you can get away from it all in the beautiful scenery of the Dart valley.
Laser Pico, Topper and Wayfarer Dinghies allow for the RYA Dinghy scheme to be comprehensively covered, which can incorporate day expeditions providing the opportunity to see a lot more of the bay. For those requiring a more serene sailing experience this can be gained aboard our 26ft Colvic Yacht.
All courses can be arranged on request. RYA Courses require a minimum of 2 persons to run, whilst BCU courses are based upon groups of up to 8 persons.
