Overbecks has a museum and garden. The museum contains the collections of curios and nautical artefacts of the former owner; scientist Otto Overbeck. Some of Overbeck's inventions are also on show, including the intriguing 'rejuvenator' machine. The house is set in 7 acres of beautiful exotic gardens with spectacular views over the Salcombe estuary. It enjoys a sheltered microclimate and so is home to many rare plants and a lovely sub-tropical garden. There is plenty to do in the gardens including a trail for the kids. This National Trust property is very pretty and an enjoyable afternoon out.
