Visit Powderham Castle for a great family day out. Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent 600 year old castle - one of the oldest family houses in England and home to the 18th Earl of Devon. Secret doors, stunning castle rooms and fascinating stories really bring the history to life. New for 2007 is the opening of the Victorian Kitchen for the first time - see how life would have been 'below stairs'.

Ride the tractor/trailer to the Smithy and back or stop off at the Secret Garden, home to our friendly Powderham pets including the two new pot-belly piglets Honey & Jasmine! Under 12s will love Courtenay Fort too a giant adventure play castle where they can let their imagination run wild for hours. Birds of Prey displays and Archery takes place in the summer holidays and a wonderful line-up of events throughout the year.

Located next to the Exe estuary and overlooking a wonderful Deer park, Powderham Castle offers you the freedom to explore its extensive grounds full of natural rugged beauty. A beautiful walk up to the Belvedere Tower rewards you with amazing views, but you are just as welcome to relax and picnic by the lake or enjoy a delicious cream tea in the Courtyard Tea Rooms.

To top off a fantastic day, pop into the Country Store on your way home. A beautiful plant centre with an amazing array of plants and shrubs, a food hall boasting excellent local produce, pottery painting and the House of Marbles great for touch of retail therapy.
