Home / Things To Do in Devon / Saddles and Paddles
Bike and canoe hire from Exeter's historic quayside. Explore the old canal trail. Seven miles of flat, traffic free cycling in beautiful countryside. The canoes are great fun and easy to use for exploring this beautiful waterway.
Whether travelling by bike or canoe you can have a great day exploring the old Exeter Ship Canal. Travel through the Riverside Valley Park, stop at the Double Locks pub for a break. Continue past the Devon Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, Exminster Marshes, the RSPB Nature Reserve, and on to the Turf Locks Hotel. The canal represents a great opportunity to explore these waterways for everyone.
By bike you can explore further. Go onto Powderham Castle and see the herds of fallow deer. Visit Starcross and hop on a ferry to Exmouth. If you have time and energy you can even travel on to the seaside town of Dawlish with the famous Dawlish Warren only a few miles further along quiet country lanes.
We offer a great choice in canoes from single kayaks to Canadian canoes taking a family of four.
Our bike fleet is renewed every year and includes child seats, tag-a-longs, and trailers for the younger children.
