This local nature reserve is situated in a disused railway cutting in the town of Tavistock. The cutting is a superb walkway or cycleway with beautiful scenary and abundant in wildlife. The cutting which was made for the railway, has exposed one of the most importnat and extensive examples of Upper Devonian to Lower Carboniferous rocks.
