External Links - FREE OPPORTUNITY

If you are a Discover Devon member, you automatically receive a link to your own website from your entry. However, we now have the functionality for your entry to link to other websites for FREE to help promote your business. Please see below an example of how these External Links appear on the Discover Devon entry for Garway Lodge Guest House.

There are four different types of External Links available:

  • Video - if you have video footage of your business on your website (or another website), you can easily direct the customer to it from Discover Devon.

  • Review - has your business been mentioned in the media such as the online press? Or do you have some really great reviews on Trip Advisor or a similar holiday-feedback website? If so, we can link through to these websites from your Discover Devon entry so that potential customers can see how highly others have rated your business.

  • Partners - Do you have any business that you work closely with? We could provide an external link from your Discover Devon entry to their website, so that the customer can find out more information. For example, you might be nearby one of Devon's great golf courses, you might have a deal with a local cycle hire company, or you might work closely with a local restaurant, etc.

  • Information - is there any other information that you think might help encourage the visitor to book with you? For example, are you located on the Jurassic Coast, in the West Devon World Heritage area or one of our AONBs? Or do you have any major events like the Dartmouth Regatta or the Gold Coast Ocean Fest taking place near your business? If so, we could add an external link from your Discover Devon entry to one of their websites for you.

You can have as many (or as few) links as you wish. To take advantage of the external links option, as long as you are a member of Discover Devon, all you need to do is let us know where to link to and what the introduction text should say. Please email details to discoverdevon@devon.gov.uk
