Devon can boast more than 50,000 hectares of nature reserves, 210 sites of special scientific interest and 33,000 miles of hedgerows. Get close to nature - from guided walks and farm trails to being a bug detective.

Devon is home to an amazing and diverse range or birds - from guillemots and cirl buntings, to nightjars, Dartford Warblers and wintering avocets. Enjoy special organised bird watching trips - from on board a boat or vintage tram, to joing a special springtime dawn chorus woodland walk.

Encounter Devon's natural world and watch red deer on Exmoor, badgers in the Exe Valley, grey seals at Lundy and pearl-bordered fritillary butterflies at Haldon Forest - just to mention a few of Devon's wildlife inhabitants.

Devon's high-banked lanes are a riot of colour in spring. Discover wild daffodils along Dartmoor's wooded valleys or autumn squill and orchids at Berry Head near Brixham.
