Foodie Devon / Devon's Local Produce / Food and Drink Attractions

Food and Drink Attractions

See for yourself why Devon's wonderful produce is so fresh and delicious by discovering just where it comes from, and perhaps enjoying a little tasting on the way!

Find your roots on farms such as Occombe or Riverford which welcome visitors, proudly showing them round their organic fields packed with top-class produce and explaining how it all works. Several run events for families - craft activities or building wildlife towers - or have cafés where you can feast on their produce.

Devon's breweries go back to time immemorial, and traditional skills still flourish in modern surroundings in a dozen places; visit historic Tuckers Malting to see England's only working malthouse open to the public or see how cider is made at Countryman Ciders.

With many of the UK's best vineyards in Devon, the opportunity is too good to miss - enjoy wandering around the vines, tasting selected enticing wines, and completing your experience by relaxing in their cafés with a further delicious glass.

For something stronger why not visit Black Friars Distillery, working home of Plymouth Gin since 1793? Or try Otterton Mill, which still uses traditional ancient waterpower to grind its flour. Quince Honey Farm is home to a million bees, so you can explore their fascinating world, or, for total luxury, visit Browne's chocolate factory, where handmade chocolates are produced.
