This is North Devon's Book Festival - a series of author talks and shows in which top authors present their work to the public. In addition there are quirky and exciting fringe events and book sales. This year's event will feature household names such as Kate Adie, Libby Purves, Jacqueline Wilson, Tony Benn, Roy Hattersley and Jeremy Strong. In addition there will be at least 14 schools-based events. The Festival is a non-profitmaking venture aimed at raising money for Appledore Library and reading projects for disadvantaged children.
The Festival will take place in Appledore - mostly at St. Mary's Hall and St. Mary's Church, Churchfield Road. The Festival will run from 27 September to 5 October inclusive On weekends there will be 4-5 family and public events plus fringe events per day.
On weekdays there will be fringe events during the day, a family event at 6.30 and a further public event at 8 pm. Full details will be posted on the website: appledorebookfestival.co.uk For latest details and ticket availability you can also contact the Festival Box Offices.
Prices will range from Free to £6.50 or more depending on the event.

From M5 Junction 27 head towards Barnstaple on the A361. At Barnstaple follow signs for Bideford (A39). Take the third exit at the roundabout over Bideford Bridge, then follow the signs for Appledore. St. Mary's Hall is an old school building clearly visible from the road and from the large Churchfield Car Park beside the river.
